About two weeks after I started juicing for weight loss I noticed a pimple like red mark, that had been above my left eye for at least a year, had completely gone away. I had a clarity of mind that I had never experiences before and I had so much energy that I felt a constant and nagging need to be productive. But at the same time I was able to sleep like a baby.
Any reducing program should not only be able to take inches and pounds off, but also be able to supply the body with the necessary nutrients to keep in good health during and after. Juicing fills this requirement.
I like apples, do not like applesauce, but teeth problems will not let me bite and really chew an apple. So I use a juicer to be able to have something I enjoy. I keep the pulp and freeze it when I have enough I add it to soups or vegetable type stews. This way nothing goes to waste.
Great tips on juicing. Question: I travel alot for my job and go from hotel to hotel at times. I can’t take my juicer with me and find that I struggle at times to stay away from easy meals. I do try to eat salads when on the road but sometimes stray away from them after a long day at a client. What would you suggest for someone who travels alot and trying to stay on a weight-loss, juicing regiment?
Proponents of juicing contend that consuming a high quantity and large variety of juices can leave you feeling more energized, even on a low-calorie diet. Freshly extracted juice from raw produce is nutrient-dense, containing a large amount of vitamins and minerals that your body can easily absorb. If, like many Americans, you have a hard time getting enough fresh produce in your diet, juicing is a convenient and palatable way to get your daily recommended servings. Because store-bought juice is heated during pasteurization, it doesn’t possess the same level of nutrition as freshly extracted juice. Consequently, you shouldn’t use bottled, canned or frozen juice in place of juicing.

The reason juicing helped me was largely because I was consuming a whole lot of empty calories and I felt unsatisfied all of the time. In a state of being un-satisfied I did what anyone would do in my situation and I ate more. So much more in fact that it didn’t matter how long I would work out in the gym my body remained the same.
First, it’s important to remember that no single food causes obesity, and the inclusion or exclusion of any single food or food group will not cause weight loss. Weight loss comes down to consuming fewer calories than you burn on a regular basis. Juicing can either help or hinder this depending on how much you’re consuming (and what else you’re eating).
Are you also following a healthy diet? You cannot just be Juicing. Your body needs real foods to kick start your metabolism. If you do not eat enough your body will go into defensive mode and slow your metabolism while storing extra fat because it thinks lean days are ahead.

This gives you reason to stick to juicing for long enough to start noticing the difference in how you feel. It is also an investment in your health and well-being; it can even save some medical expenses in the future.
For me, a tough part of the Reboot was that I did it in the winter. I think a summer Reboot would be easier – who doesn’t love to drink lots of healthy cold juices on a hot day! Also, managing to say ‘no’ to foods that were outside of my Reboot was tricky, particularly at work, especially when people challenged what I was doing. I found, and still do find it easier to say ‘no’ to everything that is not part of my new lifestyle, rather than saying ‘yes’ to some things, as I know it would be easy to fall into old habits otherwise. Lastly, trying to do too many different juices was tricky. I decided to stick to just a few ‘favourites’ so that food didn’t go to waste, and I could organise my fridge and do my shopping more efficiently.
While a juice fast may be a fast way to lose weight, it’s not the best way to go if your goal is long-term success. The best way to lose weight juicing is to eat a healthy, reduced-calorie diet that accounts for the calories coming from your fresh juice. Consult your doctor before starting any weight-loss plan.
I have been juicing on and off for several months now, I also exercise at least an hour on three days of the week, I don’t think that the exercise is required, but it just feels right. I lose weight almost immediately, I can see the difference as soon as the next morning. This is a challenging thing to do, but well worth it, I fight weight on a constant, it is no fun. My experience so far is that you have to limit the amount of sugary fruits, your body is just turning them into fat.
Most diets are based on the quantity factor–fewer calories, less fat, less carbs…but, what they completely ignore is the quality factor. The reason so many people crave various foods is that they lack quality food that offers enough vital nutrients to keep them healthy. It’s a known fact that our fruits and vegetables have considerably fewer nutrients than forty years ago. No wonder people are more hungry. This is why we eat a meal and still want something more to eat shortly after. The fact is—your body is lacking some very vital nutrients, especially when you are on a diet. This program is based on quality. That’s where juicing and/or green smoothies make a difference. They offer a concentration of nutrients along with knowing how to choose nutrient dense foods.

The most successful weight-loss strategies are sustainable, meaning you can incorporate them into your lifestyle long-term. Replacing all or most solid food with juice may be fine during the weight-loss process, but you’re likely to start caving in to any cravings you may develop — including the craving to chew — as time goes on. While cutting calories through diet alone is more effective than maintaining a diet of excess calories and burning them off through exercise, a combination of calorie reduction and physical activity is the best way to weight and keep it off. Juicing can be a healthy component of a nutritionally complete reduced-calorie diet. Ensure that you consume enough protein and fat, along with the carbohydrates and micronutrients from juice, to ensure your bodily functions work properly.
