Sweet and simple. If you’re looking for a juice blend that you can enjoy first-thing in a morning when you’re still half asleep, this is the mix for you. The cleansing virtues of the beet juice will strengthen your liver’s fat-fighting abilities, while the vitamin C in the oranges and carrots helps to trim your waist line while reducing your risk of stomach cancer and ulcers!
Although juicing isn’t a guaranteed weight-loss strategy, and in some cases may hinder your efforts, you can strategically include juicing in a weight-loss plan. A green juice makes a high-nutrient, low-calorie snack — as long as it’s made mainly with ingredients such as leafy greens, cucumbers, parsley and celery. Just be sure to count the calories as part of your total daily intake. If you like the idea of a nutrient-dense meal replacement, consider trading juice for a green smoothie made with kale, cucumber, berries and small amount of almond butter for protein and fat. This smoothie offers many of the same benefits of fresh juice while providing you with the fiber, protein and fat that can help you stay full.
Some individuals are keen on adding sweeteners along with other ingredients like ice or spices to the taste. That’s because a few of the juices you extract from raw vegetables don’t contain any natural sugars and may taste bland. However, it’s not necessarily recommended to take action since they eliminate a few of the nutrients and vitamins in the pulp or juice itself. To resolve this problem, in a single juice is ideal for taste proper combinations of fruit and veggies.
Tell that to the thousands of people who juiced last month, lost weight, lowered their blood pressure, got off their medications, who are back to eating a healthy diet, and are feeling better than they have in years…

The bottom line is that by including cruciferous vegetables in juicing recipes for weight loss, your body will be receiving a boost in the nutrients it needs to metabolize xenoestrogens efficiently. The detox pathways of your liver is of the utmost importance here. Almost every nutrient you take in, contributes to the effective functioning of these pathways, but cruciferous vegetables are major players to include.
I. Schapiro warns that juice cleansers may experience confusion because limiting important nutrients like protein can lead to decreased brain function and disruptions in neurotransmitters, which rely on protein to do their job. While you won’t be as sharp because your noggin’ isn’t getting what it needs, there are also foods to know about that suck it dry, like these Foods That Drain Your Brainpower.
It all comes down to willpower. It’s willpower alone and keeping your belly full if you can with some kind of satisfying juice. You also have to whip your mind into shape, telling yourself, “this isn’t forever. I can eat those foods again. When I am done, I plan on eating ________.” Stay away from food as you can. With kids, cook what you know you won’t cave with. Like I can’t be around pizza or pasta. So I avoid it. It’s not easy, but you get better with time. First 3 days, so hard for me. I also use these days to pray for people, committing each day to a certain person. It makes things so much easier if you use a spiritual commitment first, but that’s just my take. Been doing it successfully for 5 years now. You can do it. Blessings!
You will go through detox for the first few days. Some people don’t experience any bad symptoms except cravings. Just stick to it Joanne. You can do anything for a week if you really want to. It’s hard when you have temptations such as having to cook. Tell your husband to fend for himself for the first few days till you get the hang of it. You can do this Joanne and I wish you all the best! I’m here if you have any questions.

The people who lose the most weight from juicing tend to have about 70-80% of their juicing ingredient be vegetables. These days, with modern juicers, that is easily achievable as some creative fruity ingredients can mask the taste of any vegetable.
Hi Donnie, my boyfriend and I will start juicing tomorrow morning. We have been really excited to start right after the holidays. I was reading other posts on this site and was surprised to hear how many people are starting on Monday. We choose Saturday because we are off work for the weekend and are prepared for the detox and possible irritable side affects….. We have a 2 yr old son and I have always been pro organic when it comes to his food, but not mine, that is until my boyfriend saw the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead on Netflix. He started trying your juicing recipes the next day. He is tall, thin and is great shape, so I was surprised to learn of his new-found passion for organic juicing. I myself am short and fat (256 lbs), worst shape of my life. I was athletic until I had our son. I’m so excited we found this! And thank you for all the great recipes and advice. My goal is to be under 200lbs by Memorial Day! I plan on juicing for 30 days!
On the flip side, you may also get a dose of nutrients that you weren’t getting—especially if you were reaching for a lot of carbs during your regular day-to-day. “Juices are an easy way to have a quick vitamin and nutrient boost since they are readily available in liquid form,” says Santoro. “However, they should be used as a supplement and not as a substitute for a balanced diet.”
Thank you for recipes. I just wanted to let u know about the juicer i use. I bought a ninja online and no longer have any vegetable waste. It juices the entire veggis and and fruit. I absolutely love it. Its also 1500 watts.
The best part of chia seeds is it has only 137 calories per ounce and 12 grams of carbohydrates. And out of that 12, 10.6 grams is dietary fiber that isn’t digested. When you do the math, the true carb content is only 2 grams which is pretty low.
The combination of juices is important as well. While simply creating apple juice or orange juice is fine, the best benefit will come from combining mostly vegetable sources with a little fruit. This type of combination maximizes nutrition and lowers the overall level of sugar found within in the finished juice.
I’m on day 8 of juicing. You don’t have to eat solids like that person said. Your body gets all it needs from the juice, including protein. I drink 6-8 mason jars of juice a day and I follow that mason jar with 16-20 oz of water. Are you consuming enough juice? After day 3 you really shouldn’t feel deprived. I have no hunger pangs . I may want food sometimes because I’m addicted, but I definitely don’t feel deprived. I would try drink more juice and going green. I’ve lost 11.5 lbs so far. Good luck!
Longoria, congrats on day 2 of your juice fast! You may want to consider adding an unflavored protein isolate to your juices before and after pt. That will help make sure you aren’t loosing too much muscle and give you some energy to get through your pt. If you do that along with light exercise throughout the day, you’ll lose the weight at a good pace Longoria. Keep me posted and let me know how things work out for you. I’m here if you have any questions.
Red cabbage is a rich source of vitamin A, C, K and folate plus it is very low in sugar which makes this a drink not only good for your health but will also help in weight loss because of the low sugar content.
By definition, being overweight means your liver is overworked. The liver is where fat is metabolized, but that job gets put on the back burner when it is overworked with more important tasks. So, for any weight loss plan to be successful, you also have to nourish your liver. You do that by 1.) removing toxins it has to process, such as that Sweet’N Low in your iced tea and that aspartame in your diet soda, and 2) eating nutrient dense food and lots of green leafy vegetables. Some of the foods you should eat are obvious, such as the cruciferous vegetables for liver health. Other things are less obvious, such as olive oil and nuts, both of which have more calories, but since many weight problems include an inability to digest fats, that makes up for fat cravings. By supplying your body with healthy fats, your probability of cheating on your diet goes down.
In Central America and India, where mangoes are a popular local treat, they are sometimes eaten with salt and chili powder! This combination of sweet, salty, and spicy works perfectly, and it’s great for you. Cayenne may boost metabolism and aid weight loss, and mango is a good source of potassium, vitamin C, carotenoids, minerals, and fiber.

Hi Donnie! My husband and I are about to embark on a 7-10 day juice fast (or longer). I have done a ton of research but am still a bit uncomfortable about the effect this fast will have on my husband who has type II diabetes.
It’s easy to fall into the trap that many juicing aficionados fall into and to drink too many high sugar foods like apples and carrots. While they taste great, they are high in sugar, spiking the levels of sugars and insulin in your blood stream.
