“how to prepare carrot juice for weight loss juices for weight loss”

First off..love this blog! It’s so informative! I was just diagnosed with PCOS and started medication that has caused me to break out terribly and just leaves me feeling bleh. I want to try juicing to cleanse and of course lose weight (what woman doesn’t want that)I don’t have a juicer and don’t want to break the bank (hello..college student) Is there a way to use a blender or even a magic bullet instead of buying a really expensive juicer and still get good cleansing/weight loss results?

If you’re not a fan of fruits or vegetables, adding juice to your diet may help you consume more vitamins and minerals. However, if you can, it’s best to eat the whole fruit or vegetable to get the most benefit.

Morgan, I would recommend you hold off on a full juice fast until after your pregnancy due to the fact that toxins are released into your bloodstream and that can affect your baby. You should ask your doctor for his/her opinion though. I’m here if you have questions.

Although juicing doesn’t actually shrink the stomach, it does temporarily eliminate the possibility to eat for comfort. The upshot of that is that you will feel satiated with less food than usual, immediately after you’re done with the cleanse. This situation can provide a big psychological boost that some people need to experience so that they can change their eating behaviors and stop sabotaging their weight loss.

Gina, welcome to JOJ. You’ll need a juicer to do a juice fast as a blender won’t work. Read this article for a more in depth answer as to why you MUST use a juicer: http://www.justonjuice.com/can-i-use-a-blender-for-juicing/ The nutribullet is a high speed blender and will not separate the juice from the pulp. There are smaller compact juicers such as the juice fountain from Breville. It’s fairly inexpensive and you can find it on Amazon. I wish you all the best this New Year! Keep me posted and let me know how things go Gina. I’m always here if you have questions. Cheers!

Dark leafy greens are full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, as well as fiber that supports weight loss. Beets and raspberries contain fiber too, plus flavonoids known as anthocyanins that supply their beautiful colors. Mixed together, they have a great flavor that’s pleasantly sweet and earthy.

As usual, the beets in the Sunset Blend will cleanse your liver and make it easier to process fat, while the collection of roots work to improve your overall metabolism and maintain good health. In fact, the apples in this mix could even help you to fight back against the risk of colon cancer.

You will go through detox for the first few days. Some people don’t experience any bad symptoms except cravings. Just stick to it Joanne. You can do anything for a week if you really want to. It’s hard when you have temptations such as having to cook. Tell your husband to fend for himself for the first few days till you get the hang of it. You can do this Joanne and I wish you all the best! I’m here if you have any questions.

In all seriousness, just because going on a pure juice cleanse isn’t the healthiest doesn’t mean you should swear off juices or juicing altogether. We’re talking about consuming more fruits and veggies, after all. So supplementing your regular balanced meals and snacks with the occasional vegetable and fruit juice can be a healthy choice. This could potentially be a “sustainable lifestyle change or strategy,” Schilling said.

I know you’re not visiting this website to hear my life story, but, 17 years after getting diagnosed with Cancer and Lupus, I’m alive and feeling better than I did when I was in my 30s! When you’re told you’re going to die, you want to fight it every way imaginable and I truly believe that juicing is a huge reason why I am sharing my life with you today.

Madeline, welcome to JOJ and congrats on starting your juice fast! Since you’ve been very healthy I doubt you’ll experience any sickness related symptoms. Make sure you drink plenty of water right after a juice and throughout the day. You may consider adding an unflavored protein isolate to your juices if you work out consistently to ensure you maintain muscle mass. Just have a juice whenever you feel hungry. Listen to your body and keep me updated on your status. I’m here if you have any questions.

A: Hi Larry! Juicing does help most people shed pounds. There are so many factors involved with losing weight. It could be what you are eating besides the juicing that tacks on pounds. It could be lack of sleep or stress and medications…

Thank you for your wonderful comment Tammy! I’m glad everything is working out for the better! You’re doing an outstanding job of juicing and committing to a new way of life and health. When you’re on a juice cleanse, you’re not eating a diet that contains all of the nutrients found in a balanced diet. That will some significant consequences but one change you’ll notice first is that your hair and nails aren’t growing as quickly. “Protein, fats and carbohydrates. We need all of these for healthy skin, hair and nails,” says I. Schapiro.

When eating a low-calorie diet, water stored in your muscles with glycogen gets used up—which causes your skin to feel dry. “Balance is the key,” says Antonia Burrell, associate lecturer in the chemistry of aromatherapy at the London College of Fashion. Burrell says that a prolonged juice cleanse can lead to a drier skin and potentially prematurely-aged skin because of the lack of essential fatty acids being consumed. Yikes! Add in a source of fiber. Some juice diets and juicers (like juice extractors) leave out the pulp from the fruits and vegetables. The pulp contains some nutrients and most of the fiber from the fruits and vegetables. Low-fiber diets can lead to constipation, blood sugar fluctuations and weight gain.[17]

Thanks Donnie! 10th day and loving it! Interesting though – I had heard to have a tsp of chia seeds, but that’s not required? Actually, it’s not a problem because I haven’t been consistent…maybe only 1/2 of the days. So far 15 lbs down! While traveling this past weekend, I found an amazing Juice Bar that had cold pressed juice that could store for a day or two. It was really great – but now I want one of those machines so that I don’t have to make juice daily! It’s working fine, but not waking up at 5am would be great!

Spend some time researching different juice diets online. There are a variety of juice diets to consider, so spending ample time reviewing a few will help you decide which is best or if you’d like to combine a few different diets.
