Yes, but the juice will not taste nearly as nice as it does from a juicer.. And you will have the extra step of straining all the fibers and roughage out of the juice. You’re better off just getting a juice extractor.. Waring Pro makes a good one for around $50.00, no need to spend hundreds on a juice extractor. Some of the more expensive brands will yield more juice from your veggies, but not much more than a less expensive juicer. I’ve tried both using a blender and a juicer.. After I had the juice from the extractor, I never went back to using my blender.. The taste difference is phenomenal.

Right now, I am 245 pounds at only 5’5″ tall. I would love to hit 230 by surgery time. Thank you for posting this article.

Buy a variety of fruits and vegetables. Another essential ingredient to following a juicing diet is to have a variety of fruits and vegetables on hand. Purchasing both fresh and frozen items will give you more flexibility and variety with your juices.

Limiting your intake to fresh juice cleanses your body of environmental toxins, while promoting health, according to the book “30 Day Juice Cleanse.” But you don’t need to limit your diet to juice alone to get rid of toxic substances. Your kidneys and liver do that for you, unless they’re diseased, in which case you should consult your doctor about your specific dietary needs and the potential harm of a 30-day juice diet. If you want to improve your health and feel better, eat a healthy diet high in fiber and low in fat with a variety of nutrient-rich foods from all the food groups, in addition to your fruits and vegetables.

Whether Detoxing and Body cleanses are your thing, or you just prefer to take a lot of fruits and vegetables through juicing every day, these perfect juicing recipes for quick weight loss will aid in nourishing and clearing your body of harmful toxins.

Hey there! I read your comment and thought I could help you out a bit. I have been juicing for about a year or so now. I started off with certain vegetables and fruits that appealed the most to me. I personally really love beets, carrots, celery, cucumbers, kale, spinach, oranges, lemons, grapefruits, tomatoes, and fennel. When juicing you have to make sure that your equipment is geared to handle juicing certain fruits and vegetables. From reading your comment, it looks like you are good to go! I drink my fruit bearing drinks in the morning. I keep my natural sugars out after about 11 am. I typically blend together 12 carrots, 1 lemon, 1 green apple, 1 large beet, and 2 oranges. I happen to really enjoy the taste of beets, so I typically drink this drink early in the morning, followed by 32 oz of water. Keeping regular with your drinking and continuing to exercise helps drastically. You also should not be consuming any alcohol or other beverages at this time. If you want to truly detox and find true health and meet your goals you have to stay on the plan. Also, when you start juicing make sure you work with vegetables you happen to enjoy, it makes it so much easier to maintain and continue with your goals when you actually enjoy what you are drinking. I love spicy drinks as well, adding fennel and arugula to mine work wonders. I hope this helps!

Natalie, congrats on deciding to start your juice fast. The best thing you can do is to get yourself informed on it. Read through the site and most importantly, read through the forums here at JOJ to see what real people are experiencing while on their fast. I can’t wait to hear your success story Natalie, keep me posted and know that I’m here if you have questions throughout your fast.

Sorry for the delay in my response Renee, my spam catcher went wild over the past few days… It’s normal after a few days to not have any more bowel movements since you’re not eating or digesting anything. Anything that did come out was stuff that was already in your system prior to your juice fast. Most of the toxins will come out through your urine. Just keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll be great. I’ll be here if you have any questions.

With all of those benefits, how could you NOT want to start juicing?! If you need more inspiration, check out the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead streaming live on Netflix. It will be all the inspiration you need!

Always avoid canned or packaged foods and use only fresh fruits, vegetables and dark leafy greens that are packed with full of fiber, naturally water-rich and full of nutrients that boost up the metabolism and prevents weight gain. Consistent rather occasional intake of these juices will give the best result over time.

All you hear is,”start a juice cleanse”, or just “drink juice”, but do you know how much juice to drink daily? What about what to do at the end of your juice cleanse? No one tells you these things because they don’t know, or worse… they give you the wrong answer.

Laura, don’t set yourself a time frame, set yourself a weight goal and juice until you get there. Remember, you will continue to lose weight after the fast as long as you stick to healthy eating choices. Give yourself two weeks and then decide if you want to continue or start to include solids for a while. If you want to lose 50 pounds it may take a month or two depending on how much you currently weigh. Just keep in mind you will continue to lose weight after your fast, just eat healthy! Cheers!

When you’re on a juice cleanse, you’re not eating a diet that contains all of the nutrients found in a balanced diet. That will some significant consequences but one change you’ll notice first is that your hair and nails aren’t growing as quickly. “Protein, fats and carbohydrates. We need all of these for healthy skin, hair and nails,” says I. Schapiro.

While exercise and diet are essential to earning the figure you’ve always wanted, it’s hard to show off that smooth, toned waist-line if you’re carrying too much excess water! That’s why, when you’re searching for the best juice diet to lose weight, it’s often a good idea to include recipes that use “diuretics”.

Gina, welcome to JOJ. You’ll need a juicer to do a juice fast as a blender won’t work. Read this article for a more in depth answer as to why you MUST use a juicer: http://www.justonjuice.com/can-i-use-a-blender-for-juicing/ The nutribullet is a high speed blender and will not separate the juice from the pulp. There are smaller compact juicers such as the juice fountain from Breville. It’s fairly inexpensive and you can find it on Amazon. I wish you all the best this New Year! Keep me posted and let me know how things go Gina. I’m always here if you have questions. Cheers!

Longest I’ve juiced days in row was only 3….and lost 6.5 lbs….then took a couple of days break….and did again. Later I juiced during the day and had a sensible dinner. I’m trying to restart and do a 5 day minimum juice…its so difficult!

Heidi, congrats on day 3 of your juice fast! If you didn’t eat anything during those three days you may still be on detox. The detox usually lasts 3-5 days depending on your previous eating habits. You’ll know when you’re off detox as you’ll start to feel really good when those toxins are out of your system. As far as weight I think 20 pounds is achievable. I doubt you will gain it back if you stick to making healthy choices in your diet. It’s only when you revert to previous eating habits that you’ll gain it back. Granny Smith apples are better because they contain less sugar. Less sugar means faster weight loss.
