When you juice do you eat other foods or veggies or fruits or completely juicing? Also do you have to exercise as well i want extremely healthy results. One more question I wanted to do ALLI the weight loss pills with this is a weight loss pill and juicing a bad combination? Please help Donnie
Hi Donnie! Yes- my caloric intake is definitely less than my normal intake (as I noramally eat loads of breads, milk, sweets, etc) juicing I prob intake 250 calories per glass? Ie bfast is strawberries, kale, pineapple. Snack is gazpacho recipe, lunch gazpacho again, snack citrus green, dinner green mostly.
“Alli promotes weight loss by decreasing absorption of fat by the intestines, which reduces the number of calories you absorb.” This might work in moderation with an unhealthy diet if you maintain bad eating habits. If you take this while on a juice fast it’s completely pointless as you’re not digesting anything nor are you eating anywhere near the amount of fats to make it worthwhile.
We couldn’t make a one size fits all recipe plan, so we planned it out so you pick your recipes out just like you would on a normal recipe site. It tells you the ingredient amounts, so you can use that as a shopping list. Recipes are easily printable.
Just limit it to no more than a few days, Ravussin said, so that your short-term nutrient- and calorie-deficits don’t turn into actual health problems. And whatever weight you lose during that time…don’t expect to keep it off for long.
I have been juicing 24 hours and have lost 1.2kgs.. is this normal?? (not that I am complaining). I have heard a lot about “water weight” would this be water weight? I have been drinking heavily for the past few years and my eating has been up and down (good and bad). I have a couple of kilos I would like to drop before the Summer months. Today I am feeling good and enjoying the juice, I am tempted to have something small for lunch (I miss chewing!!).
It’s easy to fall into the trap that many juicing aficionados fall into and to drink too many high sugar foods like apples and carrots. While they taste great, they are high in sugar, spiking the levels of sugars and insulin in your blood stream.
Limiting your intake to fresh juice cleanses your body of environmental toxins, while promoting health, according to the book “30 Day Juice Cleanse.” But you don’t need to limit your diet to juice alone to get rid of toxic substances. Your kidneys and liver do that for you, unless they’re diseased, in which case you should consult your doctor about your specific dietary needs and the potential harm of a 30-day juice diet. If you want to improve your health and feel better, eat a healthy diet high in fiber and low in fat with a variety of nutrient-rich foods from all the food groups, in addition to your fruits and vegetables.
2. Your blood sugar levels go up a bit higher than they normally do. That’s in part because of the extra sugar, and also because you’re not eating other macronutrients such as fiber and protein that help slow your digestion down and moderate your blood-sugar levels.

Another good time to use juicing for weight loss is when you would normally snack, i.e., before bed. It’s best to not having anything in your body before sleep, but a calming juice like an apple-celery assists your system to calm and is light on your belly.
Raw juice blends are low in calories, and they can be a great meal replacement as long as your doctor authorizes you to include it as part of your overall diet. One thing that should not be misunderstood is what is referred to as a juice cleanse. Juice does not cleanse your system, your kidneys and liver cleanse your body. Juice is going to help your body function better, but it’s not cleansing you. Many people have a misunderstanding that juice cleanses the body, when in reality, the juice helps, but it is your body that does the work.
Kati, I think it’s well within your reach to lose those 10 pounds. Give it a go for 7 days and then start incorporating a few solid fruits and veggies into your diet. If you’re feeling fine after the 7 days you may continue on to 14 days. I’m sure after 14 days you’ll have hit your goal if you stick to it. I’m positive you’ll lose that 10 pounds quicker than you think. Make sure you are having juices when you feel hungry and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Keep your workouts easy and don’t push yourself too hard. Keep me posted and let me know how things go over the next few days Kati. I’m always here if you have any questions.
If I could only choose one for you it would be a meal replacement, and the best meal to drink juice at is when your body needs nourishment the most, breakfast. A short term fast does have big benefits though.
Juicing for weight loss is not a new concept. It’s been doing the rounds since a few years. But, what we’re telling you here is not to go on a liquid diet but to add certain fresh juices to your daily meals that can help speed up weight loss. Drinking fresh juices is also a great way to load up on a variety of minerals, vitamins, fibre and antioxidants – all of which aid in revving up your metabolism and thus, you are able to burn more calories. These juices not only help you lose weight but they also offer a host of other health benefits. Have a look.
The second are masticating juicers which usually have a horizontal design that crushes and squeezes the juice out of vegetables and fruit. This produces both a higher quality and quantity of juice than most centrifugal juicers. The design is also much more effective when juicing highly nutritious greens like spinach, kale and wheatgrass.
Ali, I would suggest drinking plenty of water immediately after you consume a juice. This will help dilute it some. If you’re still having trouble try removing the orange completely or replacing it with another granny smith. If this still doesn’t help then try removing the lemon and see if you have better results. Keep me posted!
A juice meal may also be less satisfying because it lacks the fiber, fats and protein that a whole-food meal, such as a large green salad with beans and seeds, provides. If you use the juice to replace one meal, you may end up consuming more calories later in the day because it leaves you hungrier — undermining your weight-loss efforts. If you do a juice fast, you may find the deprivation maddening and impossible to maintain. Even if you do manage to stick to a cleanse for three to seven days — or longer — you’re more likely to binge on all the foods you’ve been trying to avoid once it’s over. This could result in gaining back all the weight you lost in an unhealthy yo-yo pattern.
Thank u for the response Donnie. I bought the breville juice plus. I started eating fruits and veggies today. Do I have to do that for an entire week before starting the juice fast? Thank u again, Ali
Luckily we are not helpless in our exposure to these hormone disrupting chemicals. This is where the cruciferous vegetables list comes in. The buzz terms here are substances called DIM (diindolylmethane) and I3C (indole-3-carbinol). All cruciferous vegetables are rich sources of these phytonutrients. DIM (diindolylmethane) and I3C (indole-3-carbinol) can contribute to:
Great tips on juicing. Question: I travel alot for my job and go from hotel to hotel at times. I can’t take my juicer with me and find that I struggle at times to stay away from easy meals. I do try to eat salads when on the road but sometimes stray away from them after a long day at a client. What would you suggest for someone who travels alot and trying to stay on a weight-loss, juicing regiment?
For a full day I would use 2 grapefruits, if they are big, if small I would use 3, 8 small oranges and 3 lemons, depending how big they are and how sweet you want ur juice or how bitter you like your juice. U add more oranges, lemon, grapefruit. This is usually my staple fruit juice.
Juicing is no healthier than eating whole fruits and vegetables. When comparing gram weights, juice is not more nutritious than the whole produce. In fact, it is often lower in many nutrients, and the beneficial fiber is near zero. Contrary to some claims, your body does not absorb the nutrients better in juice form.
I have been juicing for 10 days now and have not lost one pound. I weigh myself at the same time in the morning after using the restroom and before drinking water or juice. I drink 6 16ounce servings of juice a day. I follow the 80 percent veggie 20 percent fruit method. I drink plenty of water, about the same amount or more than the juice. I am a server, so i am fairly active just because of my job. I am at a complete loss. I just got a colonic today to see if that will help. I just want to lose a little weight and some belly and chest fat. I am very disappointed after pushing through this incredibly difficult fast to not see any results. Any thoughts? I feel like i am going to stop after day 14 because it just doesn’t seem worth the deprivation.
Aaron: To lose 30-40 pounds you basically juice until you’ve lost 30-40 pounds. I know, stupid answer but everyone is different. You may lose 10 pounds a week the first two weeks then drop to 5 pounds a week, or you may lose 5 pounds a week from the start. You could also wind up losing 10 or more pounds a week and sustain that rate. So I would honestly go into it committed to 4 weeks of juicing and see how it goes. As for the caffeine headaches…with the juicing and water intake you will be surprised how good you feel. That said…if you do get the headache I would not be against having ONE Dr. Pepper a day to kill the headache. Personally I think a cup of coffee or green tea would be a better alternative though but with all the juice, you are still gonna lose weight even with a soda a day.
