My spouse and I are interested in losing weight, however since we’re juicing as a family and our teens don’t need to lose weight, we’ve only incorporated the juice for breakfast. As a family we are cutting back on junk food and late night snacking. In your experience, will small changes (one juice for breakfast and cutting back on junk food) like the ones we’ve made enough to see some weight loss?
I know you’re not visiting this website to hear my life story, but, 17 years after getting diagnosed with Cancer and Lupus, I’m alive and feeling better than I did when I was in my 30s! When you’re told you’re going to die, you want to fight it every way imaginable and I truly believe that juicing is a huge reason why I am sharing my life with you today.
Pomegranate juice is great for your skin and to get back your natural glow, but it may also help in weight loss. According to Delhi-based Weight Management Expert, Dr. Gargi Sharma, “Pomegranates are rich in antioxidants, polyphenols and conjugated linolenic acid – all of which help you burn fat and boost your metabolism. Pomegranate juice also helps in suppressing your appetite.”
The silica in cucumber will help to improve moisture and strength in your skin, while the ginger root works to fight off blemishes. Even that delightful dose of vitamin A and C in the apples will work to brighten and tone tired skin.
Broccoli stem? That’s right! Don’t throw it out after cutting off the florets for cooking, save it for juices! The stem has a milder flavor than the buds, but contains just as many nutrients including fiber, antioxidants, vitamin E and selenium, and anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. In addition, broccoli contains compounds that increase the activity of detoxifying enzymes in the liver. Cilantro is a great source of vitamin C, and it may help encourage detoxification by binding to heavy metals.
I love your program! We started juicing about two years ago, mainly so our sons would get their fruits and veggies, but we only drinking one a day – maybe. Both my husband and I are now juicing all day and we both feel great! In addition to weight loss, we both agree that we are also able to think more clearly, don’t get the afternoon slumps, and our mental attitude is so much more positive. I don’t look at this as a “diet” but as a way of life. We eat healthy meals and, yes, I do indulge in the dessert still occasionally, but not like I used to. I have been coffee free for over a month and don’t even notice – except now the taste of coffee is disgusting to me. And amazingly, I don’t have to take as much allergy medicine! …Before juicing, I was taking allergy medicine both in the morning and evening, as well as an inhaler. I would start wheezing if I would forget to take the evening dose, but I haven’t taken the evening dose for about a week now and can’t tell the difference. I never expected that but am thrilled! I LOVE JUICING! Thank you for all your information and positive attitude!!! Sharon & Brad Baylor
You won’t get the same results if you include solids. Yes, smoothies are considered solids as they use the pulp and fibers from the fruits and vegetables. If you want results then stick to the juices and let them work their magic! It will be worth it! 80 ounces would be sufficient. Anywhere between 64-120 ounces is normal. Drink water directly after a juice and also have some between juices. Water helps with absorbing the nutrients, and it also helps with the detox process.

Ah, the start of a new year! Gym memberships suddenly spike, bathroom scales get dusted off, and friends start discussing which juice cleanse to try. are 100 percent on board with this uptick in well-intentioned motivation—but we think it’s important you always know what you’re getting into.
Weigh yourself. It’s important to track your weight on any diet or weight loss plan. This will help you record your progress and give you insight into how effective or ineffective a juice diet is for you.
Aga, that’s a great routine to get into. A few days on, and a day off. You’ll notice a difference in the quantities that you eat when you are on solids compared to before your fast. I usually fast for 3-7 days every few weeks and it’s been working great. Congrats on your fast and keep on juicing Aga! I’m here if you have any questions.
Try a Juicy Smoothie. Use the fresh juice you make as the liquid component in your favorite smoothie. You can also add the discarded pulp as well. Blend in some ground flaxseed, nut butter or avocado for healthy fats and some yogurt for protein. You’ll end up with a complete balanced meal.
Watermelon spread north to the Mediterranean and Europe with early Moors. They were carried as far east as China, which is today the largest producer of watermelon. Some have posited that watermelons were introduced to the Southern US by African slaves, but they were discovered being cultivated from the northern to southern states by Native Americans as early as the 1500’s. There is some debate today as to whether watermelons are a fruit or a vegetable!
Now it’s time to actually put these healthy juicing recipes into execution. To make the process super-simple for you, I made a checklist that outlines the EXACT steps you need to take for each recipe in this article. The checklist also includes 2 bonus guides that I didn’t include in this post.
Add in a source of fiber. Some juice diets and juicers (like juice extractors) leave out the pulp from the fruits and vegetables. The pulp contains some nutrients and most of the fiber from the fruits and vegetables. Low-fiber diets can lead to constipation, blood sugar fluctuations and weight gain.
Aaron: To lose 30-40 pounds you basically juice until you’ve lost 30-40 pounds. I know, stupid answer but everyone is different. You may lose 10 pounds a week the first two weeks then drop to 5 pounds a week, or you may lose 5 pounds a week from the start. You could also wind up losing 10 or more pounds a week and sustain that rate. So I would honestly go into it committed to 4 weeks of juicing and see how it goes. As for the caffeine headaches…with the juicing and water intake you will be surprised how good you feel. That said…if you do get the headache I would not be against having ONE Dr. Pepper a day to kill the headache. Personally I think a cup of coffee or green tea would be a better alternative though but with all the juice, you are still gonna lose weight even with a soda a day.

Juicing advocates sometimes refer to the innumerable combinations of fruit and vegetable juices as “vitamin and mineral cocktails.” Unlike a blender, which you use to combine whole pieces of produce with juice or water, a juicer extracts the water, vitamin and mineral content from fruits and vegetables, leaving the roughage behind. While juicing on a regular basis can help you meet your body’s nutritional requirements and promote weight loss, it might not be the sustainable lifestyle change you need for long-term success.
There are several benefits to juicing like it aids in better digestion, it helps to improve your overall mood, it strengthens your immune system, it helps to slow the aging process, you will also notice healthier skin, nails, and hair, juicing is a great energy and mind booster. Personally, I juice green vegetables with apples 3x per week and it does work.
Spicy foods have been clinically proven to be exceptionally good at aiding weight loss. This particular juice blend comes with a healthy dose of jalapeno, and ginger root – both sure to heat up your average weight loss session.
Welcome to JOJ Kassie! You don’t have to be overweight to slim down a bit. You can drink as much water as you like. Water helps speed up the effects and it keeps your system hydrated. Make sure after a juice you do drink a glass of water as it helps to dilute the juice and speeds up the absorption process.
Laura, don’t set yourself a time frame, set yourself a weight goal and juice until you get there. Remember, you will continue to lose weight after the fast as long as you stick to healthy eating choices. Give yourself two weeks and then decide if you want to continue or start to include solids for a while. If you want to lose 50 pounds it may take a month or two depending on how much you currently weigh. Just keep in mind you will continue to lose weight after your fast, just eat healthy! Cheers!
Suki, you mean like doing a juice fast? Yes, you could, although it might get a little boring having the same juice over and over again! You might want to check out my Juice Feasting 101 eBook for more ideas!
One other concern with juicing is the cost. It takes a lot of fruits and vegetables to make a small amount of juice, and these fresh produce items don’t come cheap. Especially if you are discarding the pulp, you’re spending a lot of money on making fresh juice when your wallet (and body) may benefit more from simply eating the fresh produce. Healthy eating does not have to cost a lot of money, but if budgetary constraints are a top concern of yours, juicing isn’t the most frugal choice when it comes to getting the most nutrition for your buck.
Juicing is the fastest and tastiest way to get all those healthy vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes that our modern diets are lacking. If you are looking to lose weight then try our juicing recipes for weight loss.
Fiber, for instance, which helps you feel full and slows the digestive process and moderates your blood-sugar levels. And many essential amino acids (proteins), which you can only get through food sources. And fat-soluble vitamins, which need to be digested along with fat in order to be effectively metabolized. Plus other important things that keep your body ticking along normally.
Red cabbage is a rich source of vitamin A, C, K and folate plus it is very low in sugar which makes this a drink not only good for your health but will also help in weight loss because of the low sugar content.
Lesson 6 is about improving the quality of your sleep. As you may already know if you can’t sleep well, losing weight is difficult. When you don’t get enough quality sleep, your hormones that promote hunger and cravings go up and your appetite control hormones go down.
But how can you lose weight by juicing? You will lose more weight by juicing raw vegetables instead of fruits. Fruits are great and give your juice a good taste but you should keep your more fruitier juices for the morning. Fruit has a lot of sugar which can slow down your weight loss. I like to make a good fruity drink in the morning but for my other meals I tend to just use an apple and a lemon to hide other strong vegetable flavors such as kale or spinach. It’s best to keep your juicing diet to about 80% vegetables and 20% fruits.
Weight Loss? I have lost 10 lbs., he has lost 12.6lbs. We have a plan for afterwards so as to continue our healthy lifestyle (we are both vegan, me for nearly 8 years, him for 6). Becoming vegan and living a healthy, vibrant lifestyle will always be a process; we transitioned into vegetarianism many years ago, then to being vegan, and now we enjoy lots of raw and cooked vegan food. It did not happen overnight.
It’s important to do more than just juice for weight loss. You’ll find a lot of people starting on a juice fast and losing weight, while others juice to add healthy nutrients to their diet, which aids in weight loss.
