The first 3 days I juiced, I felt nasty with headaches. In fact, as soon as I had my first juice they started. The juice I made tasted gross. My apples were tiny which I didn’t realize being new at this. Each of the first three days I was starved and had to eat. As soon as I ate the headaches went away. Now I’ve been juicing for over a month, make better tasting juice, but I eat so I’m not fasting. I’m thinking of fasting but I was starving. I juiced four times a day. Now I juice 2-3 but I eat. I drank tons of clean water. I have to cook for my husband which doesn’t help the starvation. What can I do so I don’t feel nasty and starved?
Jessica, I admire your goal of losing 50 pounds. If you stick with it, you’ll lose it much sooner than 8 months. One thing that I can say is just don’t have a cheat meal. Why would you cheat yourself out of your goal Jessica. Go into it 100% and you’ll see results so much sooner than you think. Hi I have been juicing now for 8 days and lost 11lb already but still have at least 20lb to go. Just had some bad news today and ended up eating things that I shouldn’t as long as I carry on the diet how will my body react to the excess intake an will I put a lot of weight back on again??

Stuart, I had very high blood pressure and was on medication before I started. My blood pressure was normalized within three days of the fast. Don’t stop taking your medicine though. You may want to schedule a check up with your doctor or monitor your pressure daily in intervals so you can get an idea of how your blood pressure is on and off the meds while you are juicing.
I will keep checking back through my fast for inspiration. I am not going to lie and say it’s easy. I live with people that will not go without food so I am constantly dealing with that.:( oh well I know that it can be a struggle but I can do this I just take long walks during their dinner time.

Ali, I would suggest drinking plenty of water immediately after you consume a juice. This will help dilute it some. If you’re still having trouble try removing the orange completely or replacing it with another granny smith. If this still doesn’t help then try removing the lemon and see if you have better results. Nic, it’s most likely stuff that’s been stored in your intestines from previous meals, water weight, and fat. Don’t eat any solids, just stick to your juices. Selena, it’s okay to drink green tea but you should make sure it’s decaf. Green tea has a high caffeine content and you should avoid caffeine while on your juice fast. If you can’t get decaf, limit yourself to 1-2 cups in the morning or around lunch time and you’ll be okay. I’ll be here if you have questions.
The problem is that you can’t live on juice forever. You need protein, fiber, and fat in your diet to remain healthy and strong. If you can tolerate the side effects of the detox, than a short fast is a great way to kick start a weight loss program. But keep it to 10 days max, that should be long enough for your body to clean itself out and purge a healthy amount of fat, without you doing any long term damage.
All Natural – Since juicing uses all natural produce, you can limit your exposure to processed foods. The chemicals and additives in such foods actively contribute to weight gain. Daniel, if you lose weight the right way, your body will adapt and your skin will adjust. Give yourself a good 14 day fast and then re-evaluate things and go from there. As far as workouts go, it’s best to let your body rest and recover during the first 3-5 days as you’ll be going through detox.
