Saw the documentary “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead) and both Hubby and myself decided to try a 60 day fast. Our goal is wt loss (both have 50+ to lose), help hypertension, high cholesterol. We are on day 9 of our fast. Our b/p are both excellent. Hubby has lost 12 pounds and I have lost 6 pounds. He is drinking 5 (16ox drinks) and me 4 (16ozdrinks) per day plus water and one morning pure coconut juice. My question is that he continues to loose each day. I have stayed the same 3 days in a row and yesterday gained .8 pound. Am I doing something wrong? I have not had anything else but what is mentioned here. We have done about the same activity level. I was wondering since he is 6 ft 1 inch and I am 5 ft 1, should I be drinking less juice? We are drinking 80 % vegetable to 20% fruit. Thank you.
Drink Now, Not Later! Freshly made juices and smoothies are highly perishable since no preservatives or pasteurization is used. So drink or freeze your mixture shortly after juicing or blending. If you can’t consume it all, freeze the leftovers immediately in ice cube trays and then pop them into freezer bags. These make great additions to smoothies later!
It’s more like since I have TMJ, I need to “chew” on something or else I have the possibility of having problems with my jaw from not using it. But I acutally found something that replaces the chewing motion, so I don’t need to eat something to chew. Thanks so much!!
Kendra, what’s more important, losing that weight you’ve put on or flavor that you taste for a minute while consuming a juice? The flavor is something you can adapt, change, and get used to. You will do fine if you focus on your health Kendra. You’ll have to experiment with a few juices and see which ones work best for you. Keep me posted. I’m always here if you have questions.
Thanks I’m almost 20 and have been about 30 lbs overweight almost all my big school career. Now that I have a actual career going I seem to go to fast food places more and now notice I’m gaining a lot. Just never sure how to loose it. But I pretty sure I can buckle down and start juicing.
Timing is crucial when juicing. The living enzymes and nutrients inside natural produce die off within a few hours of being exposed to the open air. They may survive a bit longer with refrigeration but max benefit will be achieved if the juice is consumed immediately after creation.
All the task is done by way of a machine called a juicer or juice extractor. You insert any fruit or vegetable into its teeth and the device immediately separates the pulp from its natural extracts. This “juice” is raw and potent enough to be consumed immediately.
All Natural – Since juicing uses all natural produce, you can limit your exposure to processed foods. The chemicals and additives in such foods actively contribute to weight gain. Going natural, especially if you use organic produce, can avoid exposing you to such risks. Additionally, juicing is free from all preservatives since you control exactly what goes into each drink.1
Pomegranate juice is great for your skin and to get back your natural glow, but it may also help in weight loss. According to Delhi-based Weight Management Expert, Dr. Gargi Sharma, “Pomegranates are rich in antioxidants, polyphenols and conjugated linolenic acid – all of which help you burn fat and boost your metabolism. Pomegranate juice also helps in suppressing your appetite.”
Fruits and vegetables offer an amazing long list of health benefits due to their amazing phytonutrient content. Many juice recipes help improve specific health ailments, like the juice for joint pain, one for type 2 diabetes, and one that’s thyroid-friendly! When it comes to weight loss, this is a blend that certainly supports your goals to shed a few pounds.
Liver Detoxification: One of the primary functions of the liver is to serve as the body’s detoxifier. It is involved with detoxifying harmful substances (like environmental toxins, chemicals, food additives, preservatives, drugs, etc) before they can enter the bloodstream and harm the body. Periodic cleansing of the liver through juicing can be important in maintaining good health. Fresh juices reduce the burden on the liver and give it a chance to catch up. Juicing allows the liver to rid itself of accumulated toxins, thus permitting it to operate more efficiently.
The easiest way to juice to lose weight is to create a meal plan that includes the weight you want to lose, the fruits and vegetables you’ll be consuming daily, and how many meals you’ll be replacing with juice per day. Buy a juicer or blender for easy mixing, and use frozen fruits or vegetables to incorporate foods that aren’t in season. I just started the 14 day juice fast yesterday. I guess my timing was bad because the 4th of July is tomorrow! I was wondering if it would be OK to continue juicing during the holiday and just eat one salad for tomorrow? After that, I will return juicing for the remainder of the cleanse.
Watermelon spread north to the Mediterranean and Europe with early Moors. They were carried as far east as China, which is today the largest producer of watermelon. Some have posited that watermelons were introduced to the Southern US by African slaves, but they were discovered being cultivated from the northern to southern states by Native Americans as early as the 1500’s. There is some debate today as to whether watermelons are a fruit or a vegetable!
Hey, I’m on day 3 of juicing and I’m still going to the toilet as frequently as I should, and right now I only have fruits in my house that I can juice, I juice about 3 times a day, will this still have the same weight loss effect on me?

Detox – Green juice full of chlorophyll is particularly detoxifying and can really help your liver and kidneys to flush out your system. Celebrities regularly go to such retreats to shed the pounds after an unhealthy spell. But you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to reap the benefits of juicing. Now, everyone can do it from the comfort of their own home.
But how can you lose weight by juicing? You will lose more weight by juicing raw vegetables instead of fruits. Fruits are great and give your juice a good taste but you should keep your more fruitier juices for the morning. Fruit has a lot of sugar which can slow down your weight loss. I like to make a good fruity drink in the morning but for my other meals I tend to just use an apple and a lemon to hide other strong vegetable flavors such as kale or spinach. It’s best to keep your juicing diet to about 80% vegetables and 20% fruits.
The silica in cucumber help to improve moisture and strength in your skin, while the ginger root works to fight off blemishes. Even that delightful dose of vitamin A and C in the apples will work to brighten and tone tired skin.
My results from my doctor were all I needed to motivate me to focus on the Reboot. I’d seen what it had done for Joe, and others, and I hoped it would help me too. At first I thought I would just try doing 3 days. I did get a few headaches and felt tired and hungry on those first few days, but it passed. Then I thought that I might as well go two more days and make it 5. Then 5 became 7, then 10, then 15, 20 and eventually 30 days. I did weekly video recordings of myself to document how I felt, and I could see the difference within just the first 10 days. It was pretty exciting! Of course I encountered people who were skeptical about what I was doing, but as the weight started to drop off, and I no longer felt tired or even terribly hungry, and my clothes became noticeably looser, people started to ask me how I was doing it, and I was able to inspire others to have a go at juicing too.
I am coming close to the end of my 14 day fast. I have lost 12 pounds at this point on day 10 but my goal is to lose a total of 30-40 pounds. I have really been wanting to eat solid food for the last couple of days and am looking forward to eating again. I am planning on eating for about a week or 10 days and then starting a 7 day juice fast and then eating for a few days and then doing a 7 day juice fast and so on and so forth until I reach my goal weight. Do you think my body will respond in this manner of fasting then eating then fasting? If it makes more sense to do another 14 day fast after I eat solids for a week or so then I guess I would give that a try again but after the end of day 9 it started getting difficult for me and I am cranky at my husband every time he eats. Let me know what you think.
Each stage will add new and healthy additions to your lifestyle that will carry over to each subsequent stage. By the time you start stage 4, the training wheels are off and your new lifestyle is in full-swing!
If you’re not a fan of fruits or vegetables, adding juice to your diet may help you consume more vitamins and minerals. However, if you can, it’s best to eat the whole fruit or vegetable to get the most benefit.
Chad, you’re still going through detox. That’s a very common symptom of detox and it will pass soon. Detox usually lasts between 3-5 days. As far as weight, the more you start with, the more you can expect to lose. At your weight of 170 I’m going to say you will lose weight but probably not so much as to make you look super skinny or anything bad. Just keep on eye on your weight and set your self a limit that you want to lose, or a limit that you don’t want to pass and then start incorporating solids back into your diet. Let me know how things progress for you Chad. I’m here if you have any questions.
When you juice do you eat other foods or veggies or fruits or completely juicing? Also do you have to exercise as well i want extremely healthy results. One more question I wanted to do ALLI the weight loss pills with this is a weight loss pill and juicing a bad combination? Please help Donnie
Hello! I was just wondering if I could get your opinion on the Breville JE900. I have read reviews of some people complaining that it did not juice leafy greens correctly. Others said they were afraid that the high speed was overheating all of the nutrients. However, the Majority of people raved about it. I would appreciate your insight. Thank you in advance!
One other concern with juicing is the cost. It takes a lot of fruits and vegetables to make a small amount of juice, and these fresh produce items don’t come cheap. Especially if you are discarding the pulp, you’re spending a lot of money on making fresh juice when your wallet (and body) may benefit more from simply eating the fresh produce. Healthy eating does not have to cost a lot of money, but if budgetary constraints are a top concern of yours, juicing isn’t the most frugal choice when it comes to getting the most nutrition for your buck.
Hi Donnie, this is my first day juicing. I found this website and its really helpful. Someone told me I could only do it for 7 days but I read in one of the comments that I can do it up to 60 days. I want to try the 60 days but before that I wanna make sure I do it right. How many oz of juice do I drink a day and how many times?
I hear that when you come off your fast eating is hard to adapt to. Is that true? Does your stomach hurt when eating again? Should I just stick with veggies and fruit to eat the first day after cleanse?
Hi I just started the 7 day juice fast. So far I have lost 4kg. I want to continue 5 days and stop as it will be my daughters birthday. Would that be ok? And then just start back up after. And can I just stick to the recipes on the 7 day juice. Or where can I find more recipes? Sorry for all the questions and thanx in advance
While the carrots and beets in this blend work on your liver, the high fiber content in the spinach will repair, heal, and nourish your stomach to reduce constipation, discomfort, and unsightly bloating.
Juicing is the process of extracting the juice from fresh fruits and vegetables. A small kitchen appliance known as a juicer is used to extract the juice, and these can range in price from $50-$500. Drinking the juice of fruits and vegetables means consuming their water and much of their vitamin and mineral content; however, the pulp, or fiber, which also has many health benefits, is removed. (Note: Some high-powered juicers do retain most of the pulp in the juice, thus resulting in a thicker juice.)
Hi donnie!! Hope u r doing gr8.. Sorry to bother u with the bombartment of my questions.. I am doing gr8 with jucing and loving it.. Succesfully gone through the second day and today is the third day.. The question is i might travell to dubai this weekend and dont wNt to quit on the juicing.. How can i manage as i would be residing in a hotel and mainly going for shopping only for four days..how can i manage it there??
Mariamalia, if you want to do a juice fast you need to keep it 100% just juice. When you add solids into the mix you are no longer fasting. While it’s great to incorporate juicing into your diet you’d get more benefits by going full juice. Juicing works by allowing your digestive system to rest. See, juice is absorbed into your system instead of digested. Your digestive system gets to rest, cleanse, and detox while you juice. When you add solids into the mix you are not allowing your digestive system that time to rest and cleanse.
